Once upon a time, there were six children who grew up together, studied in the same school together, and later went to the same hostel in NTU. However, they were not all on good terms with each other. For as long as they could remember, there exist a rift between these six mortals. Three of them thrive on the adrenaline rush of adventure, saving worlds in peril… in the virtual realm of Video Games. While the other three souls were bound by their love of Movies, that alluring wonder of the silver screen. Each group thinks that the characters they admire were the best, and this is the source of many quarrels between the two groups… which persisted even as the years pass…
One fine day, as the two groups of young adults were playing their games and watching movies in their respective rooms, strange things started to happen. The clouds disappeared, and the sky turned blood red. There were strange rumbling sounds, lightning struck and it began to rain. Suddenly, the television screens they were using to play games and watch movies began to glow brighter and brighter simultaneously. The six students were shocked by the unusual happenings and tried to get out of their rooms. But before they can do so, six televisions exploded!!!
And then there was darkness…
When they regained consciousness, they found themselves at the NTU medical center. A short time later, they were discharged with only a few bruises to show of their bizarre experience. Little did they know that extra-dimensional forces were already at work within their bodies. That freak “accident” bestowed them the powers and abilities of the six characters last seen on their television screens before the explosion.
The three video gamers found themselves living their childhood fantasies, with the powers of RaIIden (the God of Thunder and protector of the Earth realm of Mortal Kombat), SonIIc (the world’s fastest hedgehog and star of Sonic the Hedgehog) and the mushroom eatin’, fireflower munchin’ super plumber MarIIo (Super Mario Bros.)
While the movie fans discovered that they could call forth the persona and abilities of the white wizard GandaIIf (from Lord of the Rings... and I would watch the old man’s “walking stick” if I were you), the amazing SpIIder-Man (from the movie… well, you know…) and the formidable Force of a JedII Knight (from… Star Wars)
Here, their story unfolds… as they embark on the most ShIIok time of their young lives...
